This configuration option specifies the category or kind of the device under test. Two primary DUT kinds are supported:
Forward proxy: when sending requests to Co-Advisor origin servers, Co-Advisor clients will connect to the specified proxy and will use absolute Request-URIs as HTTP requires when talking to proxies. The forward proxy must be configured to forward requests to Co-Advisor servers.
Reverse proxy: when sending requests to the Co-Advisor origin server, Co-Advisor clients will connect to the specified proxy and will treat it as the origin server, using relative Request-URIs as HTTP requires when talking to origin servers. The reverse proxy must be configured to forward requests to (i.e., accelerate) the target Co-Advisor server.
Selecting the device kind is required to start a test because this knob affects various protocol headers and conventions that the test suite must use. At the time of writing, however, there are no test cases specific to a given device kind.
