  1. "A system receiving an HTTP/1.0 (or lower-version) message that includes a Connection header MUST, for each connection-token in this field, remove and ignore any header field(s) from the message with the same name as the connection-token" (rfc2616)

Developer notes

This MUST seems to be untestable: To test "and ignore" part, we need to find headers not defined in HTTP/1.0 that cause HTTP/1.1 proxies to behave differently. Vary and Cache-control are such candidates, but are not hop-by-hop and, hence, they MUST NOT be used in a Connection header. Transfer-Encoding is hop-by-hop, but pure HTTP/1.0 proxy forwards all codings, so "ignoring" the Transfer-Encoding header is wrong.
